Founder + CEO
La Becky Roe, MS
An experienced educator and passionate visionary, La Becky Roe, is the founder and executive director of Let’s Talk About It–The Autism Center. Her award-winning organization is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), while its subsidiary, Henri Consulting, delivers education, training, and consulting services to executive teams, public facing professionals, and communities.

With over 20 years of subject matter expertise, La Becky applies best practices and leverages lived experience to develop comprehensive programs and high-value solutions. As the parent of an adult son diagnosed with ASD, her work is fueled by a genuine desire to reduce mental health misconceptions while increasing advocacy for persons with autism. Audiences are empowered by La Becky's energizing keynote speeches, caregivers and families benefit from her private counsel, and corporations and communities improve their understanding and approach to ASD through her contributions.
As a community educator and highly sought after public speaker, La Becky engages audiences across the United States. She has served as a keynote speaker for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s (UNCC) School of Social Work and as a featured speaker for the 2023 National ADA Symposium. Her other appearances include guest speaker, panelist, and facilitator roles for Western Carolina University, Mecklenburg County, and Trusted Parents among others. In 2024, La Becky expanded her speaker portfolio to include production where she served as the co-director for This is My Brave, a 3-part show produced by the Office of Violence Prevention in Mecklenburg County Public Health and ReCAST II.

A civic leader who excels at attracting high-quality community partnerships, La Becky aligns with nonprofits, institutions, governments, and individuals to improve the quality of life of persons with autism and their caregivers. Among her partners, she has secured the support of corporations including TIAA and Robinson and Bradshaw in addition to the largest school district in the state of North Carolina, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Through their union, La Becky educates and empowers their employees with practical insights to improve workplace inclusion and the delivery of classroom interventions.

Practicing a holistic approach that includes individuals, caregivers, and communities, in 2023, La Becky, authored Spectrum of a Journey: A Guided Journal for the Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum. With an objective to develop a resource that supported the mental and emotional health of parents, La Becky combined personal experience with her insights as a subject matter expert to guide parents toward hope and a positive path forward after diagnosis. A nominee for the prestigious Who’s Who in Charlotte Award and finalist for the Northeastern University Heart of Charlotte Award, La Becky’s contributions are praiseworthy and impact-driven. In spring 2023, she launched Let’s Talk About It- the Autism Center’s inaugural Autism Resource Fair which made ASD support services accessible to hundreds of families, educators, and communities. Expanding her scope in fall 2023, her organization received a Mecklenburg County ABC grant which allowed it to offer programs that proactively contributed to the reduction of drug and substance abuse-related mental health disorders. In 2024, the organization received United Way support for a third year, allowing it to launch an evidence-based skills training program for persons with Autism and other mental health disorders.

La Becky is a retired New York City police officer who holds a postgraduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder Across the Lifespan and a Master of Science in Education, Criminal Justice & Human Services with a Concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Crime Prevention. In 2024, she completed the University of California, Los Angeles’ PEERS program and became a certified PEERS® provider. La Becky is an active member of the city of Charlotte's Citizens Review Board and facilitator with the Mecklenburg County Crisis Intervention Team. In 2024, she was selected to participate as a member of Leadership Charlotte (cohort 46) in which she looks forward to expanding her contributions to the Charlotte community and beyond.
